October 28th, Lunar Eclipse with Moon in Taurus: Noting up front; the Lunar Nodes, where the Sun and the Moon’s orbits actually intersect, are in Aries and Libra, but the Sun and Moon are in Scorpio and Taurus, respectively. The Eclipse is at 4:24 PM ET, with visibility in Europe, Asia and Africa. Click Here For Visibility Map Eclipses are about releasing in one area, so that we may develop in another. There is a balance. Eclipses are marked by the positions of the Sun and Moon; the Solar Masculine principle and the Lunar feminine principle. We consider how our comfort zone and familiarity holds back our growth and development. It does not mean we will experience a tangible loss, but that is entirely possible. Often it can be a shift in perspective or extreme moods. Regardless of how the eclipse manifests, the eclipses are part of a cycle and we can expect this story to continue. The next eclipse is March 25th 2024, when the Sun is in Aries, where the North Node will be. Onto the actual astrology. A great theme that has consistently developed over the last few months is this item of balancing social decorum with freedom of expression. This balance in life can be difficult as we have good reason to follow social decorum and find ourselves partially restricted. It preserves order and allows us a healthy course to follow. It is good to discern between what is a healthy boundary and what is a confinement. Then ask, what shifts/disruptions to our current perspectives or illusions are occurring? What boundaries have I outgrown? What has to change in my life? Consider boundaries as items like social conventions, the bodily preferences, nurturing emotional spaces, and anything that funnels the paths of our daily life. There will be an edit, alteration, or removal to a boundary. You should ask yourself, is there a space I’m keeping myself in/out of for the sake of my comfort zone? Literally or metaphorically. You may experience some extreme moods that disrupt the flow of your life. For example, a depression which will remove the energy you’ve had to maintain certain masks in your public life. This is where the Eclipse comes in. To shake things up; prevent enabling; catalyze growth. They are tumultuous. This Eclipse cycle is stronger for most Cardinal strong charts [Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn] and this particular eclipse brings the illumination to the archetype of the Fixed signs Taurus & Scorpio. As we go into the Cold season we go into the time of rebirth, decay, and decomposition. The “Off-Season“ for traditional ancient societies that didn’t have Central Heat and indoor gymnasiums. We are not so disconnected from those old societies that our DNA doesn’t want to follow the seasons as they did; as they had to. So follow the season. There is a reason why we are more often depressed as it gets colder and the amount of Sun continues to reduce. We are not to be called to put in the same effort as when the air was warm and the world was green. Our society of course rarely and barely permits this alignment, but this is just a metaphor. You will tap into the sense of rebirth that Scorpio offers, the sense of rediscovery and expansion of Sagittarius, the contemplative enrichment of Capricorn, the awakening of Aquarius, and the infinite possibility of Pisces. These are the doctrines of the Cold season (in this hemisphere). So why am I bringing all that up? Right down the Sun is with the South Node. The illumination is on the releasing. By the time the next Eclipses come around the Sun will be with the North Node, where the comfort zone is disrupted. So the conscious mind brings attention to the release, while an inner foundation of change and invigoration is laid upon the subconscious. Allow yourself to focus on releasing behaviors, perspectives, and environments that you have outgrown.
